I've been thinking a lot about personal myth-making lately through various beautiful synchronicities. I find writing our own stories and writing about our own stories allows us to reclaim our truest selves. I'm not sure how I feel about the term true self but I think you know what I mean. It is through the writing we are able to process it all which inevitably leads to healing and, a term I learned and fell in love with recently, wholing. There's just something magical doing it all publicly. We find we are not alone. We find connections. We find community of like-hearted individuals. So thankful you chose to share yourself publicly. ❤️❤️❤️
I am so thankful for the individuals who have even just come here once or for a little while. I know I can be a lot and not everyone wants or need to read about what I have to say. But the ones who do, I am thankful I am here for them to find. Even if one thing I say helps someone else reframe some of their dark and bring it into the light. ❤️
Luisa, I am so thankful your response and you can reflect similar feelings that I myself have had.
As for your question about not writing about a particular subject.... I have imagined a through line that connects it all. It is about being a creative human and using my background knowledge of the design process, terminology and imagery and relating it to the process of coming into ones own. I would like to get this method more clear this year, that we can design our own lives at the ground level of our consciousness, from the raw material, research, form studies, experiments, and questions we ask, we can redesign the way we do things. Instead of going the same pathways, questioning them to design new ones. The core of what I have wanted to do here is to shed light on the depths of what it means to be human and evolve through the lens of creativity and design research. With the human being the researcher, designer, prototyper and product of self that feels most aligned.
In order to tie this all up....I think the general through line is enough. The lens of which you are writing from. That through line might just be YOU and your outlook and personally I think that is enough. I love your "Salted" theme, seeing it as the crystallized understanding after experiencing life on life's terms through all the storms. I quite enjoy reading your thoughts. Maybe "Salted" is enough of a through line you can use to find how you tie it all together while maintaining the very real layers and differences that are inherent to you.
One thing for me is that I do not wish to be categorized or boxed in. Ever again. By me or by others. Perhaps that is my rebellion and perhaps that is the current collective ambition, to be more true to yourself than you are to any format or category.
Though not having a specific topic of writing other than myself and my own experience and understanding, it does seem so make it harder to "market" the newsletter to anyone. So in my case, I have settled back in the idea of being a lighthouse. A place for people to find when they need it. One person could come in a find healing in a resonant voice, find a reflection of themselves or a the right question and the right time to push them forward.
I have written a lot here. I think it is a case of being super excited to interact with you. I am thankful for it and I am going to leave it all. I would love to keep this conversation going on here or elsewhere. Feel free to reach out.
